New Coach
As the season comes to a close off field activity takes centre stage with the appointment of Brian Roche as club coach for the 2010/2011 season. Recently featured in the Heineken Cup Supplement of the Irish Examiner Brian’s rugby credentials are unquestionable. Having had an illustrious under age career with Highfield which saw representative honours with Munster and Ireland he commenced his senior career with Sundays Well. The talents of the young wing come full back were soon spotted by English side Bath who contacted him and where he went on to form an integral part of there Heineken cup Squad becoming the first Irishman to win a Heineken Cup medal. He returned to take up a contract with Munster. He played his club Rugby with Shannon before returning to Highfield where he commenced his career he captained the club to league honours in 2004. He went on to attain his Level Two Coaching Badge. He has coached the Highfield under 21 sides for a number of years. Having held a well attended meeting with players and setting out his approach to the coming season there is a great air of anticipation throughout the club. Tag Rugby Bandon Tag will be back again next Summer.
